Dear Parent and Carers,

We are constantly looking for ways to improve the children’s experiences at pre-school. From observing the children during their play we will be creating a ‘Mud Kitchen’ in the garden. This is where the children will be able to create using mud, sand, pebbles and grass. We have been speaking to the children about what they would like in their new mud kitchen and they have asked for wooden spoons, pots, pans, cake tins and small spades (one child specifically asked for a red spade). We would therefore appreciate any of these items that you may not need in your home; we will be able to put to good use with the children. We currently have ten waterproof suits for the children to wear whilst they are exploring in the mud kitchen. However if your child has their own all in one suit to protect their clothes from the mud that you do not mind getting a bit muddy then please bring this in for them to wear along with their wellies. Thank you.

The children have really enjoyed singing and dancing to the Frozen music that we have at pre-school. Therefore we will be having a Princess and Pirate week the week commencing 9th February 2015. Your children are welcome to come to pre-school dressed as a princess or a pirate for the week if they would like to. We will be providing activities relating to princess and pirates to bring out their imagination and to have lots of fun. We have dressing up available for your child should they wish to dress up at pre-school.

We continually provide ‘messy play’ such as play dough for the children at pre-school to help them to develop their imagination, physical skills, creative skills and problem solving. Therefore we would be grateful if you are able to donate any of the following resources: corn flour, salt, flour and play sand. Thank you for any donations you have already made to us, we really appreciate your support.

We are now collecting Sainsbury’s vouchers to go towards resources for the pre-school. We will be talking with the children about the resources they would like to have at pre-school and will let you know the items they have chosen. Any Sainsbury’s vouchers that you are able to bring to pre-school would be great, the box will be at the entrance to the pre-school by the main door, thank you.
