Dear Parents/Carers,
Nursery Rhyme Week
This week is national Nursery Rhyme week. Nursery Rhymes play an important role in early childhood development and education. As well as being fun they are excellent teaching tools which is why we like children at Courtney Ladybirds involved.
We will be celebrating this very important week by providing arts, crafts, stories and singing activities all aimed around the Nursery Rhyme themes. As there are so many Nursery Rhymes we have picked 5 to focus on. These are: Hickory, dickory dock. Incy Wincy Spider, 1,2,3,4,5, Baa baa black sheep and Miss Polly had a dolly.
We would like to encourage you to help your child learn these rhymes as we will be singing them throughout the week. Once your child has learnt all 5 they will be awarded a certificate to reward them for their efforts.
The New Playhouse
The children have been enjoying testing out the new Playhouse this week, they have loved exploring inside and playing role play games such as the 3 little pigs! Although I, being the big bad wolf did struggle to blow the house down! They have also used the house as a pirate ship and a caravan.  It’s great to hear all the suggestions that the children have as they play and use their imagination.
The children would love to furnish their new house and so are trying to decide what they would like to go inside. If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them. Also if anyone has any empty boxes big or small that the children could use to make furniture etc that would be great.
Debutots visit
Geri from Debutots will also be in again this Wednesday afternoon to entertain the children with her story telling, dancing and acting. The children absolutely love joining in with this and we can already see some future stars in the making!
