Courtney Ladybirds Pre-School Family Night   Thank you to everyone that was able to come along to the family night on 17th June 2017.  It was lovely to see so many families and friends coming together to raise funds for the pre-school and to spend time together.  Thank you to everyone that was able to make donations to the raffle.  The amount raised was £395 which is amazing.  This amount will be used to purchase resources for the pre-school which we will share with you soon.

A big thank you to the committee who arranged the event, for giving up their time prior and during the evening to organise such a great event and a big thank you to Mike and Clive who provided the disco for free for which we are really grateful, thank you.

The staff and committee have already been talking about future events as this was such a great success, we will keep you up to date of future events.

Hot Weather  The weather has been really hot recently and we would like to say thank you to all parents and carers that have provided and applied sun cream before their child has attended pre-school.  This has really helped as you can imagine applying sun cream to 27 children can take time so we would encourage children to have sun cream applied before they attend pre-school please.  We apply sun cream periodically throughout the day.  To help keep the children cool we have been ensuring to play in the shade and putting lots of water play out for the children who have been paddling in the water and making foot prints and exploring shadows in the sun shine.  The children and the Aunties have also enjoyed ice lollies, ice pops and ice cream during the hot weather which has provided much needed cool down time.  The children have really enjoyed this with one child saying “It’s like being on holiday”.

Lost property    There are lots of items in the large red lost property box at the main door to pre-school.  We would like all items returned to their rightful owners by the end of term.  Please therefore look through the box for your children’s things.   If the items are not collected by the end of the school year they will be disposed of so please ensure to have a look and take your child’s items.

Parent’s meetings   Thank you to all parents that came in for meetings with your child’s key person and to discuss your child’s transition to school.  It was lovely to see you all.  Further parent’s meetings will be taking place over the next couple of weeks for the children that are returning to pre-school in September 2017.  Should you not have an allocated date and time for your meeting please speak to your child’s key person, thank you.

Wellie boot donations please  Has your child outgrown their wellies?  We would really appreciate any wellies that your child no longer needs so the children can enjoy outside play such as puddle jumping and playing in the mud.  Many thanks for any wellie boots you are able to let us have.

Teddy Bear’s Picnic  During the last week of term (week commencing 17th July 2017) we will be having teddy bears picnics throughout the week.  The children are invited to bring along their teddy’s or special cuddly toy with them to pre-school during the week for picnics and teddy bear games and fun.

Pre-School Leavers Party  For the children that are leaving pre-school for school in September 2017 we will be having a Leavers Party on Friday 21st July at 4.00pm to 5.15pm.  At the party there will be soft play, face painting, dancing and games.  Invitations to the party have been sent home with the children last week.  Please let your child’s key person know if your child is able to join us at the party or email us.  All the Aunties look forward to spending fun time with the children leaving for school and to get the chance to say goodbye after their time at pre-school.
